1. Watching as many Netflix as I possibly can, including the following: Dr. Who,
Battlestar Galactica, Weeds ("You are not naming my grandbaby after some killer wave!"),
Deadwood, Veronica Mars, LOST, Alias and Point Pleasant.
2. Making endless trips to various stores attempting to find a gate capable of keeping
Phoenix out of the kitchen, refrigerator and butter dish, where we find our butter
quarters violently punctured by so many pokes of tiny fingers it resembles a small
chunk of melted Swiss cheese.
3. Trying not to crash into dividers on 309, the road that is under eternal
construction, while pinning my daughter to the front seat with my right hand
BECAUSE SHE HAS EXTRICATED HERSELF--HOUDINI-LIKE--OUT OF HER CARSEAT
and has decided to join me in the front of the car! (We affectionately gave her the
nickname "Tooms" on account of her gift of contortion. You know, Eugene Tooms from
the X-Files?!)
4. Reading some good books, namely She Got Up Off the Couch (and Other Heroic Acts
from Mooreland, Indiana by Haven Kimmel. You MUST read this book! But read her first
memoir, A Girl Named Zippy: Growing Up Small in Mooreland, Indiana, before you read
the aforementioned work of literary awesomeness. She's sort of a mix between Anne
Lamott and David Sedaris, I think.
5. Eating lots of cheese steaks, Italian hoagies, pizza, Tastykakes, Utz potato chips,
Goldenberg peanut chews, and of course, drinking Frank's Black Cherry Wishniak, a very
wonderful carbonated beverage that is indigenous to the Philadelphia area. Which is
also why I am walking as much as I can!!!

| Sorry for taking so long to post. We've gotten wireless and piggy-backed our neighbors's network, at their very generous suggestion. So we are online agin. For free, even!! We are all doing well, finally. We're slowly unpacking boxes and putting up bookcases. We finally got our washer to work without flooding the basement! Phoenix has a new phrase, "For Narnia . . . and For Aslan!", which she shouts with raised fist whenever we rub our heads or scratch our ears, thinking we're asking for the battle cry. She picked that up all on her own from watching The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe three times a day. Causing us to recite many overlooked movie lines like, "The Macready!", "But we're from Finchley!" and whenever we want to blame someone else for something, "You bowled it!" If anyone can tell me exactly which part of the movie those lines belong to, I will send you something special. We are doing well and
are happily settling into Philadelphia. We've found a church that we
are excited about, and have made some friends in the neighborhood that
go to the same church. We spend a lot of time in the park on the corner
of our street. Here are some pictures:

I will post more tomorrow. My connection is too slow. It's taken me an hour to upload two pictures.

| We're finally in our new house! The last few days have been a whirlwind of activity. Thanks for your prayers! It will take a while to settle in then I will be able to write more. | | |
| Our landlord called us last week to tell us that we couldn't move into the house until July 15th, since the painting wasn't finished yet. Our hosts/friends have been very kind and have not put us out onto the street, which I am very sure they were tempted to do. We finally went to the storage unit and got Phoenix's crib out so she would have a more familiar place to sleep. It worked. She's falling asleep a little better, it's only taking her an hour to fall asleep, as opposed to the 2 or 3 hours it was taking previously. And she's staying asleep through the night better also, which is nice. She's still not napping unless we're in the car or she is in the stroller, so that's been a bit of a problem. Mike really likes his job and having a regular income has helped alleviate the stress quite a bit. We're looking forward to moving into our matchbox house soon! We call it that because it is so small and cute. I'll let you know when that happy day arrives.

| Mike got the job at Admints! He started three days ago. They actually started him off at a dollar more than they originally told him, plus they are giving him $100 a month for travel expenses! That pays for all the tolls plus a tank of gas! And the commute is not as bad as he thought. It's only a half hour. He's had to work overtime every day since he started so we're not seeing very much of him. Now we're just waiting for our landlord to get the house finished so we can move in.
